Simple Isn’t Easy

Seated, 120 × 100 cm — a seated figure in Venetian plaster set against a turquoise chalk paint background. The warm pink and orange tones of the body contrast with the cool blue, while the layered surface subtly captures and reflects light.

The Studio

The studio is situated in the hills below Mijas, Spain, within our own oasis not far from the coast: a food forest and part of the project Back to la Tierra.

Surrounded by a regenerative landscape, a slower rhythm and the vibrant light for which Andalucía is known, this is where I try to find the peace of mind that allows inspiration to arrive, and to create work with presence, depth and honesty.

Visits are possible by appointment. To see the work where it is made, surrounded by the landscape, materials and quiet presence of nature, is an experience that brings you closer to the paintings and to the world from which they emerge.
